Everything about visiting the Musikverein

This statement applies to the website www.musikverein.at, including its English-language version at www.musikverein.at/en.

It does not cover the ticket and subscription shop at www.shop.musikverein.at or multimedia.musikverein.at. This operates as a separate system and is not subject to the review and revision described here.

The Musikverein uses the website musikverein.at to provide information about concerts, subscriptions, guided tours, membership, and attending concerts. The site features pages for the concert schedule and individual concerts, contact and inquiry forms, and general information about the Musikverein. Tickets and customer accounts can be accessed via the ticket and subscription shop; links to this shop are provided on the www.musikverein.at website.

The website has been revised and tested for compliance with WCAG 2.1, Level AA. Chapter 9 of EN 301 549 references the same criteria.

The website is largely compliant with the stated requirements. The content listed below is non-compliant or only partially compliant.

  1. Image credits on the homepage. The credits on the homepage images do not consistently meet the required minimum contrast. For the credit currently shown, the measured contrast is 3.35:1 against the average image brightness and 1.41:1 over the darkest areas of the image. The requirement is 4.5:1. This affects only the credit, not the page content.
  2. One form field without a machine-readable input purpose. In the U30 form, the field “Postcode and city” combines two pieces of information in one field. Because no single input purpose can be assigned to it, autofill is not supported for this field. All other fields with a defined input purpose are marked up accordingly.
  3. Newsletter sign-up. The newsletter sign-up is embedded from an external service and is outside the Musikverein’s control.
  4. Downloadable documents. Not all documents provided as PDFs are fully accessible.
  5. Form field labels. In the contact and enquiry forms, the field labels appear as placeholders inside the fields and disappear while the user is typing. Every field has a label for screen readers, and error messages name the field concerned. This design was kept deliberately.

This statement was prepared on October 1, 2026. It is based on an assessment of the website conducted by Identity Lab GmbH between August and September 2026. The assessment involved both automated tools and manual testing using a keyboard and screen reader.
