Franz Welser-Möst

In the 2026/27 season, the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien will dedicate a concert cycle to its honorary member Franz Welser-Möst. Among other things, he will lead the Cleveland Orchestra into the Musikverein for the last time as principal conductor and conduct Beethoven's ‘Missa solemnis’ on the 200th anniversary of the composer's death.

Anne-Sophie Mutter

Music by Mozart and Mendelssohn is just as essential to a programme featuring Anne-Sophie Mutter as that by Previn and Penderecki. The artist is also particularly keen to introduce the Iranian composer Aftab Darvishi at the Musikverein.

Yuja Wang

Yuja Wang, the dazzling pianovirtuoso, will be performing in a total of six concerts. From Johannes Brahms' two piano concertos, she will span a wide, multifaceted musical arc to Samuel Barber.

Maxime Pascal

Maxime Pascal has quickly established himself internationally as a conductor of new and contemporary music. At the Musikverein, the 40-year-old Frenchman presents milestones of recent music history and monumental Romantic choral symphonies.
